Anyone who cares at all is going to find this out somehow, so I might as well put it right out in the open: as of today, Jim Sardino is no longer a member of Forstella Ford. We are going to have to cancel the shows we had coming up, but we are going to continue writing and will be playing out again as soon as possible. I don't really feel like going into the reasons involved in this parting, but it's rest assured it's nothing horrible. Things just change, and that's what happened here. We will wish Jim the best of luck in his future endeavors, whatever they may be.

Enough said.

They're not supposed to, but Insound has copies of Dismal State of the Art on both CD and LP. They're over-priced ($12.99 for CD and $11.99 for LP), but that's probably because they're imported from Germany. If you're smart, however, you won't buy it, because we're releasing that record with Insincerity Down to an Artform all remastered on one CD very soon, and it'll sell for a lot less than that. It's up to you, though.
In case you didn't read it in the last post (due to my rambling), I'll post it nice and big here:

Canadian / Eastern US tour is CANCELED

Now, if you want to know why, read below. We're going to be spending a lot of this fall working on writing a new record. It's been quite some time since we've even written a song, so we need to focus on that for a while. We're doing some demo recording in October, and playing a few shows here and there, but don't expect us to play out too much until next year.

Also, you might have overlooked this news as well, so I'll post it again:

Our video (Limiting the Experience) is out of print

...and will stay that way, unless of course we get saucy and decide to release it on DVD.

Are you ready for this?

I don't have much time to write, because I'm with Cody at the Milwaukee Public Library using their computers here, but I wanted to write and let everyone know that we are being forced to cancel our upcoming tour, as well as the show we just missed in Grand Rapids the other day. It has a lot to do with the fact that our van definitely needs work before we take it anywhere, and several of us are facing some fairly serious financial situations and need to get jobs really soon.

This message goes out to the people who set up some of the shows we had, too, since I haven't had a chance to e-mail them yet. I've been sleeping at Cody's place for the last few days, since it's easier for me to do that than have people come get me from Racine every day. Unfortunately, they don't have the internet at their place.

Hopefully, we'll make up the dates really soon, but we're not really the type of band where it even matters. There will be no riots if a Forstella Ford show doesn't happen. We're sorry, and that's all we can say.

We're back from tour, if only for 10 days. It was a blast, but we're glad to be done for a little while. Tour gets to be exhausting after a while - especially in the summer. We had to say way too many good-byes on this tour. First Justin, then Benni, then Jessica (for me, anyway), then Markus, and finally Martin, who left last night. Whitney and I dropped him off at the airport in Chicago (and got a $50 ticket in the process). We're sad to see him go, and we hope he made it back safely.

We have some more shows in the works, but we're keeping those in the downlow for now, because we're not sure exactly how it's all going to pan out. We'll see. It was very confusing trying to book shows from the road, because access to the internet was so rare. We'll see, though.

Anyway, it's late and I'm tired and cranky, so I'm going now.

Cody can't be sXe and be a member of God and the Baby Jesuses at the same time; it just wouldn't work. No sXe allowed!

Our video, Limiting The Experience is out of print and will remain that way forever. If you didn't get it, don't worry. It's coming soon to an auction site near you!

We've received a lot of e-mails from people wondering where the hell the show on July 5th is exactly, so I thought we'd post the information on our web site.

July 5th, 2002
The Logeman Center in Mequon, WI
6100 W. Mequon Rd. (use Expedia.com for directions)
Besides us, these bands are playing: Kung Fu Rick, Pg.99, The Assistant, Seven Days of Samsara, The Goodboy Suit, Bright Calm Blue, Billy Music & Majority Rule

Show up really early, because the show HAS to start on time, since so many bands are playing in such a short period of time. Get there now and camp out, if you're smart!
