What's to update? We're on tour, and it's amazing. Lack is amazing, Benni, Markus & Justin are awesome guys to have along. There just isn't that much to say, I guess. Maybe we're just getting too caught up in it. We've yet to have a day off, and I don't see one coming for a long time (knock on wood). I think we did a really good job booking this thing, and it's probably due to some alterior motive (meaning it's not just our ass if we have a day off -- we've got a band with us that came all the way from Denmark to play shows). I think the first day off might be June 9th, when we were originally going to play Milwaukee. We can't see to find suitable venue, and we could probably use the rest.

Anyway, it's almost 4:30, so I should go to sleep. We're staying with Tom & Leigh from the Assistant tonight. They're a 3-piece now, which is a LOT cooler than I imagined it would've been. You'd have to see it to know what I'm talking about, but Tom plays the parts of 3+ different people all out of one guitar. Truly astonishing! I can't wait to see them again later this summer when we travel with them for a small portion of their tour.
I am Jack's complete lack of update...

Four days into tour, and there isn't much to report, but I do want to say the following things:

  • LACK are amazing as people and as a band. I am SO fucking excited to see them play every day for over a month.
  • Andrew OWNS. He made us veggie chili and made us feel like we were on tour in Europe again.
  • That's all for now.

There are three Martins that we hold dear: Martin UK, Martin the long-haired German, and Martin Defatte the graphic design wizard. The latter actually took the photos of our merch for his portfolio; the reason that our other t-shirts and records aren't pictured is simply that he did not design them. Our first two albums and the Arquebus Vs. Archer 7-inch also were not pictured.

As for shirts, if you really do want to collect all of them, you'd have to find at least ten different shirts. We've made a lot of designs over the years.

If anyone's got a Livejournal (yeah, I know they're lame, but oh well), add me to your friends list, and I'll do the same. Networking... word.
Wow... when you look at it all together that is one amazing collection of merch. How gorgeous are the coloured vinyls? *swoon*
However, you didn't include the 'basketball' logo tops. I'd trade mine for one of the 'megaphone' shirts.
We finished writing a new song (our first since last summer), and we're going to be playing it on tour. The music is completely finished, but I have the task of writing lyrics ahead of me, and I'm drawing a blank. Never fear, I'll recite baking instructions if I have to in order to play the song at shows, because it's definitely the best song we've ever written. Well, in our opinions.

This weekend was a lot of fun. The shows in Steven's Point and Appleton were amazing! We saw a lot of old friensd both nights. And, hell, we got to feel like rock stars when the University in Steven's Point put us up in a hotel for the night. Kalamazoo was fun, but don't ask me why, because the show didn't really go so well. Kalamazoo is one of those towns that's pretty dead in the summer. Well, I should have just said it's a college town, because that's basically what that meant. Milwaukee's got a college, though, and it's certainly not dead in the summer, so I guess it all depends. We stuck out like a sore thumb at the show, though. It was mostly instrumental jazzy technical stuff. I don't think a lot of the people there appreciated what we were doing, but oh well. It felt like showing up at some high school, going to the band room, and trying to play with all of the kids in there. Impressive as all hell, I have to give it that, but I personally found myself drifting off or playing Sonic on the Gameboy Advance while most of it was going on. Can you say ADD? Regardless, it certainly didn't seem like the same Kalamazoo we played just a few months ago.

We didn't get back until about 4:15 am today, which was much later than we anticipated. Whitney's got a 15-page paper to write and could've used an earlier start, and Nick would've had to work at 5 am, but called out.

Now it's off to load our gear into the practice space so that it's not sitting in the back of the van all week. That means two hours in the car for Nick and myself. Toodles.

Ok fine we'll just beat up everyone that comes to the merch table..... I watched your little movie again today and my mom popped in from work early to catch the europe part of it. She likes when you guys mess around but hates your music (kinda like your mom). So if you want I can rough her up for you and you can take care of your mom.

So guess what sucks about tomorrow? There's another show going on in Stevens Point and its pretty good so it will hurt your crowd a little. Its cool though, cause from what I hear you have a lot of people coming in from out of town. It should balance out. Well, John is almost to Green Bay and we have some girls to hit on and a movie to watch. Later.
Actually, they stole a shirt, not a hoodie. :)

Anyway, our 2nd full-length, Insincerity Down to an Artform is being released on vinyl by INIT RECORDS in a one-time pressing of 300 copies. It should be avaiable by June. The CD is almost gone, and may never see the light of day again.

I have the 3rd "sweetshirt" so if we just beat up anyone wearing it we'll have a 50/50 shot at beating up the right person and thats good enough :)
